Our first “Yoga For Men” class begins tonight.
What can one expect in a class geared toward men?
Expect strength-building postures, and plenty of beneficial stretching, to be sure.
But, also anticipate postures to increase flexibility, sharpen focus, ease stress, and other posture to help keep men’s bodies healthy.
It’s a monthly, 75-minute class.

6:00 – 7:15 pm

Yes, real men do yoga!
NORTH PARK YOGA’s first men’s class will be
Friday, October 18th, 6:00-7:15 pm — that’s a 75-minute class.
It will actually be more of a workshop, targeting areas where men need more attention (both their strengths & their weaknesses).
Many activities (including sports) demand a specific use of muscles, often asymmetrically, thus requiring the need for balanced
strength & flexibility.
This will be a monthly class.

A very warm ‘thank you’ to all who attended the open house last night for North Park Yoga.
I am very happy to have reached this point, and I look forward to diving into a full schedule of classes.
Perhaps it was the wine, the champagne, or the wonderful healing sounds of the gong bath
courtesy of Kenneth Goff, but seeing everyone’s enthusiasm for
the space made for a very special, and memorable evening.
Anticipate a special Friday evening gong workshop
on the schedule in the near future.

My personal experience with yoga, and yoga instruction, have both unfolded over time. Although I do not align myself with any particular school, brand, or style of yoga, my approach to teaching has evolved to reflect my own personal perspective. I have not taught yoga in order to seek popularity, rather I attribute the popularity of my classes to the fact that I have struck a chord in many students. Perhaps, it’s an approach that has not been adequately represented in many yoga studios.
My path has now brought me to the point to branch out and create a space to fill this niche — a place for the dedicated yoga practitioner seeking a smaller, more personal learning environment. With a small class size, I can devote more personal attention to my students. This is the focus of my yoga studio.
This is the long-awaited website for my own yoga studio, North Park Yoga. It is still a work-in-progress. The website has full class descriptions, and a schedule of classes. I will soon be adding more content in the schedule page enabling students to purchase memberships, and reserve classes through that page. The page also contains this blog, where I will keep you updated on happenings at the studio, such as special workshops by guest instructors in the near future, and other yoga-related topics.
I welcome anyone to my studio for my open house — an opportunity to visit the studio before I actually begin classes.
The open house is Sunday, October 6th, 4:00-7:00 pm.
3047 University Avenue, Suite 210
San Diego, CA 92104
There is free parking behind the building. The studio is inside a secured building. Please follow instructions on directory to be buzzed inside.
Welcome to the newest Studio in North Park. North Park Yoga is in the heart of this vibrant community offering a unique, specialized approach to the practice of Yoga.
